My paintings are narratives, at turns allegorical and visceral, ethereal and lingering. Another-world created by intricate sets, costumes and wigs. I invite the viewer to commune with a female subject placed in the alternate space and reflect on their life and the life in the painting. Informed by classical realism, inspired by the pre-Raphaelites and Symbolists of the nineteenth century, I weave my twenty- first century outlook into the fabric of my work. |
